What do you currently do?

I am currently the Director of Special Education PK-5 in Mt. Olive School District (Mt. Olive NJ)

How did you start?

I began my career in special education as a special education teacher. I then pursued my Masters in Special Education and my LDT/C (learning disabilities teacher consultant) certification. I then worked on the Child Study Team as an LDT/C completing educational assessments and planning programs for students with special needs. From there I obtained my Supervisor certificate which enabled me to secure a position as a Supervisor for Special Education in Parsippany Troy Hills School District. Finally, I obtained my Principal/Directors certification and began working in my current position as the Director of Special Education.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, hiking, reading and crocheting.

What is the most valuable experience you think you can share with someone?

I think my experiences in building relationships in the workplace has helped me to successfully navigate my career in the direction that I wanted it to go. Identifying what I am passionate about and using that to build my career path is a story that I can share to help motivate students. Specifically, being in the field of education for 25+ years will allow me to offer much insight into a variety of different positions.
